Karen Felix founded Marketstaff in 1997 to provide human resource services to brokers on the trading floors of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Board of Trade. Since its inception, Marketstaff has evolved into a boutique firm in specialized markets. Marketstaff acts as a human resource department for its clients by providing all the functions necessary to staff a business.
Meet the Principals
Karen Felix
Karen Felix is an experienced human resource consultant who founded Marketstaff in 1997 to provide human resource services to brokers on the trading floors of the Board of Trade. Since its inception, Marketstaff has evolved into a boutique firm providing services in several specialized markets.
Ms. Felix worked for the legal department of a Fortune 50 corporation and for the largest private corporation in the U.S. where she was responsible for overseeing the EEOC docket, and worked with inside and outside counsel in all employee-related claims as well as ERISA matters. During her tenure, sexual harassment laws effecting employers were greatly revamped. Accordingly, Karen was involved in the development of specific sexual harassment policies and in implementing procedures which complied with local and federal laws.
Karen has volunteered as an instructor at Cook County Jail for CLAIM (Chicago Legal Aid to Incarcerated Women) and PACE, a non-for-profit organization aimed at reducing recidivism among the male population.
Ms. Felix graduated from Elmhurst College with B.S. degrees in both Psychology and Sociology and obtained a paralegal certificate from Roosevelt University. Karen also attended DePaul College of Law for two years. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Professionals and the Chicago Business Women's Association.
Joni Price
Following her formal education at Marquette University , Ms. Price began a career in finance and accounting. During her 15 year career, Ms. Price focused on accounts payables and receivables, collections, and bank reconciliations. As accounting manager for the largest printing press companies in the Midwest (with annual revenues in excess of $125 million). Joni oversaw the daily financial operations of the company, including cash management, leading the audit teams, credit management, general ledgers, and tracking the day-to-day financial position of the company. |
